Lumen Boundary Motion Analysis by Auto-correlation

چکیده
We describe a method for extracting boundaries, such as the lumen of a vessel, from digitized intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) frames from a S-VHS video, together with other useful parameters for each frame. Autocorrelation of the lumen and other parameters, a timeseries analysis, shows underlying regularity in the variation of lumen area through the heartbeat, and systematic variation of the circularity (or eccentricity) with heartbeat. The heart rate as extracted from video image sequences agrees with direct determination during animal experiments within 1%. The methodology should be useful in extensions to physiological and pathological

Impact of hemodynamics on lumen boundary displacements in abdominal aortic aneurysms by means of dynamic computed tomography and computational fluid dynamics.
The aim of the present work is to quantitatively assess the three-dimensional distributions of the displacements experienced during the cardiac cycle by the luminal boundary of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and to correlate them with the local bulk hemodynamics. Ten patients were acquired by means of time resolved computed tomography, and each patient-specific vascular morphology was reconstr...
متن کاملAn Improved Motion Vector Estimation Approach for Video Error Concealment Based on the Video Scene Analysis
In order to enhance the accuracy of the motion vector (MV) estimation and also reduce the error propagation issue during the estimation, in this paper, a new adaptive error concealment (EC) approach is proposed based on the information extracted from the video scene. In this regard, the motion information of the video scene around the degraded MB is first analyzed to estimate the motion type of...
متن کاملA Three-Way Auto-Correlation Based Approach to Human Identification by Gait
We propose a scheme for gait recognition using cubic higher-order local auto-correlation (CHLAC), discriminant analysis, and k-NN decision rules. CHLAC is based on three-way (x-, y-, and time-dimensional) auto-correlations of pixels in motion images, and it effectively extracts motion features. The method has several properties preferable for recognition: shift-invariance (rendering the method ...
متن کاملApplication of Particle Filter for Vertebral body Extraction: A Simulation Study
Lumbar vertebra motion analysis provides objective measurement of lumbar disorder. The automatic tracking algorithm has been applied to Digitalized Video Fluoroscopy (DVF) sequence. This paper proposes a new Auto-Tracking System (ATS) with a guide device and a motion analysis to automatically measure human lumbar motion. Digitalized Video Fluoroscopy (DVF) sequence was obtained during flexion-e...
متن کاملAutomatic measurement of instantaneous changes in the walls of carotid artery with sequential ultrasound images
Introduction: This study presents a computerized analyzing method for detection of instantaneous changes of far and near walls of the common carotid artery in sequential ultrasound images by applying the maximum gradient algorithm. Maximum gradient was modified and some characteristics were added from the dynamic programming algorithm for our applications. Methods: The algorithm was evaluat...
